Cash Awards

$5,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top Green Schools to help fund their efforts to “go green”:

• $2,000 for the top school
• $1,000 each for the next two schools
• $500 each for two Judges’ Choice Awards

The Green School Awards Ceremony

The award ceremony will be a luncheon event held at the Communtiy Foundation on a date to be announced later. Three representatives from the top 25 schools will be invited to attend.

The Green School Banner

Schools rated at Program of Excellence will receive a banner to display in their school.

Certificates and Logos

All schools will receive framed Green School certificates to display and camera ready logos to use on school stationery and websites.

Media recognition

All schools who meet the Program of Quality level or higher, will receive media recognition broadcast across the county.

Green Seed Money

Pine Jog Environmental Education Center has a new program called Green Seed Money for the 2009-2010 school year. All schools that applied for Green School Recognition in the 2008-2009 school year are eligible to apply for these funds which will help schools fund new Green School projects. To apply for these limited funds, please use the Green Seed Money Program Application.
