Learn Green Conference

2010 Learn Green Conference and Expo

We are pleased to announce the date of the Second Annual Learn Green Conference and Expo Presented by Audio Enhancement.  This year’s conference will be held on October 15, 2010 at Palm Beach Central High School in West Palm Beach, FL. Registration for the conference is free and open to elementary, middle and high school teachers, administrators, students, and parents from private and public schools throughout Palm Beach and the surrounding Counties.

Call for Presenters

The application to present is open.  Completed forms should be e-mailed to Karen Aubry at kaubry@fau.edu

Targeted audience for the conference and expo will be teachers, administrators, parents, students, and school community members interested in learning how to make their school “greener.”

If you have an innovative or practical topic about how a school can green their practices then presenting a session is for you!

Breakout sessions will 45 minutes in length.

Presentation forms will be due no later September 3, 2010

Registration for the Second Annual Learn Green Conference and Expo presented by Audio Enhancement is free.

For the 2010 Learn Green Conference and Expo we are offering a healthy breakfast and lunch that is available for purchase. Breakfast is being supplied from Whole Foods Market - Wellington with organic coffee being served in addition to muffins and assorted fruit.  Lunch is being prepared by the Culinary Academy at Palm Beach Central High School using ingredients from Whole Foods Market - Wellington.

Limited number of lunch and breakfast tickets will be sold that day!  Make sure to purchase your meal tickets when registering for the 2010 Learn Green Conference and Expo.

Program Information

• Our keynote speaker for the 2010 Learn Green Conference and Expo will be Mr. Jim McGrath.  Mr. McGrath is the Executive Director and Founder of the National Green Schools Network

• Prior to founding the Green Charter Schools Network, Jim served as founding principal for Oakwood Environmental Education Charter School in Oshkosh, Wis. He has served in education for more than 30 years as a teacher and principal, with experience at all levels of public education. His main focus has been to improve public education through innovative instructional approaches. He was formerly a member of the Sheldon Nature Area committee. The Oakwood EE Charter School utilizes the Sheldon Nature Area as a living laboratory to provide an integrated environmental education curriculum. Jim helped create an aviation charter school in partnership with the Experimental Aircraft Association.  He has presented at state and national educational conferences and was awarded the Wisconsin Environmental Education Administrator of the year in 2004. He has a bachelor of science degree in Environmental Education, a master of science degree in Health/Physical Education, a master of science degree in Educational Administration, and holds a Specialist Certification in Education Leadership
